Event Details
Counterpoint Concert presents an S Street Salon performance of Schubert’s Winterreise, featuring baritone Rob McGinness and pianist & founder, Natalia Kazaryan. Written at age 30, a mere two years before his death, Schubert’s iconic work is one of deep emotional exploration and lamentation. Set against a bleak, wintry landscape, the song cycle depicts a lovelorn wanderer who, in the words of Schubert authority Richard Capell, “directly face[s], all unprepared, the blasts of the different and surprising hours of life."
This intimate event, hosted in a Dupont Circle home and funded by the Beverly Losch Endowment for Counterpoint Concerts, will include a reception with hors d’oeuvres and wine.
This performance has been made possible by the generous support of Dr. Tom Powell and the Beverly Losch Foundation.
